We are pleased to publish this update to the polluting incident compendium, which now contains data and graphics through calendar year 2011. It is hoped that the compendium will be a valuable asset to citizens, industry leaders and policy makers.

The current edition covers 37 years and more than 357,000 investigation reports. This information provides a basis to better understand the nature of polluting incidents in and around the waterways of the United States.
